Five Keys to Maximizing Revenue With Google AdSense

1. Earn more money with every click but at the same time maintain relevance with the ads displayed on your pages.

2. Have lots of pages that display AdWords.

3. Maximize the number of visitors to your website that view more than one page displaying AdWords.

4. Improve the “click-thru” rate of your website.

5. Increase the traffic to your website.

Steps to Increasing Click-Thrus With Google AdSense

Step 1 – Apply and Comply

Having a website can generate revenue for you twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Google AdSense is a free program that has an advertising revenue especially designed to help websites like yours to increase their revenue simply by displaying AdWords ads. You can apply online at:

google.com/adsense

Apply to Google to have your website reviewed. Each page on your website must be content rich on various topics. These pages should all be centered around a theme which Google will use to target relevant ads to your website.

Once you have applied, Google will require you to reply to an email to confirm that you have actually applied. In about 2 –3 days, Google will inform you of the review of your website and whether or not it has been accepted or rejected.

Google will set up an account for you and provide you with the HTML code you need for displaying ads. Insert the HTML code into the pages on your websites and you can start displaying ads immediately.

Google search and page-ranking technology will search for ads that are relevant to your content pages. This technology matches the primary language of your pages and ads are targeted to your specific geographic location. This means that ads that serve users from Canada, for example, will not be the same ads that appear on your website for users in Australia. This ‘geotargeting’ by Google makes the ads relevant to all the visitors to your website and it also means that you may not see all of the ads that are targeted to your website.

You do not have to be technologically literate to display AdSense ads on your web pages. Google does it all for you. All you have to do is insert the HTML code and maintain the website.

It may take a few hours before the ads do appear on your web pages. At first, you may see public service ads appearing and you do not get paid for these.

If your website is accepted, Google requires you to comply with their program policies:

• AdSense accounts cannot be transferred, reassigned or sold in connection with your website.

• You can place multiple ads on each page, but these cannot be in common with each other. The content of the page must not obscure the ad and both the ad text and the URL must be visible.

• If you are using Alternate Ads, you cannot specify Google as your alternate ads.

• AdSense ads cannot be pasted into any software application.

• You cannot modify the AdSense ads or serch boxes before pasting them into your web pages.

affiliate or limited text links are not permitted in areas such as MP3, Video , Newsgroups and Image Results cannot be shown because of copyright laws.

• Visitors cannot be required to download a dialler in order to view the content of your website.

• You cannot use any incentives to get users to click on any ads.

• Ads cannot be used in any unsupported language.

• Fraudulent clicks or clicking on your own ads are prohibited.

• Your website cannot contain any profanity, prejudicial language, information about hacking, illicit drugs, pornography, gambling or any other material that infringes on the rights of others.

• Your website must not contain any broken links and must be easily navigable.

• You must respond adequately to requests for support and enquiries made through your website.

How To Create And Market A Best Selling Info-Product

Sticky:

Discover The Info-Product Creation And Marketing

Secrets That Have Made J. F. Straw Over $82

Million In Sales Over The Last 30 Years …

Both On And Off The Internet!

Welcome…

Louis Allport here …

Here you’ll find the complete transcript of the interview I had recently
with J. F. Straw specifically on just one subject:

How To Create A Best-Selling Info-Product!

This publication is sold with the understanding
that the publisher is not engaged in rendering legal, accounting, or other
professional advice. If legal advice or other expert assistance is required,
the services of a competent professional person should be sought.

Hi
Jim … so, I know that looking around your web site you have your Power
Tools
section which I believe you consider your perennial best
selling products — let’s say they didn’t exist and you wanted to create a
best-selling info-product to sell online … what would be your first step?

Oh goodness — that’s
a hard question Louis. You see I’ve never researched a product in my life
… I am exactly like my customers … I started off as a 9 year old kid picking
up the ads out of the back of the comic books and selling stuff and moved
on into other businesses.

I was in business for
over 20 years before I ever started writing about it … when I wrote about
it I only wrote about things that I had actually done or had been involved
with doing … and after I completed doing something that was successful I
wrote about it. The things I did that weren’t successful I didn’t write about.

And
of course since there are other people like me out there in the world I discovered
that people would pay for that kind of information, that’s why I became an
info-publisher … but until I semi-retired here a few years ago I did the
other businesses and my wife and kids actually took care of the publishing
side of it, all I did was write the products.

Now I write them and sell
them and mess with the web site and all of that. And I’ve never had a loser
as far as a product although I have had some products that it took me two
or three years to find the advertising that would work to sell that product.

Because the products themselves
… I don’t try to figure out what people want because there’s just too many
people out there for me to try to figure on, but the things that I do I know
that other people like me would be interested in doing them so I simply tell
the stories of how I’ve done it, how I go about it, and then let them follow
through. I think that’s probably the reason for the success of my products
over the years.

Right. So in a way
people are really interested in them because they actually want to emulate
your proven success?

Oh yes. But if I was
actually doing any research writing I would not rely entirely upon the internet
for information and all of that in order to write a report … I have gone
out on the search engines and searched out product information and information
on various operations and believe me it’s not all the way they say it is.

And
now I’ve got between 4,000 and 5,000 books in my own personal library but
when I’m working on something, if I need to know something I may check the
internet and search through and find information but then I go to the books
… hard-copy books … I go to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and down to the
local library and I check and see what’s written there because I found that
too many ner-do-wells with a computer in front of them can make up all kinds
of things about a subject matter.

Especially
after having been in business for 50 years I could take a look at a lot of
their stuff and see where these people have never really done it, they’re
simply spectators telling you what they think it’s about.

So,
which would you say is your most successful product out of your Power-Tools
collection?

Currently the most successful
out there is the mail order marketing course — “Own
Your Own Mail Order Business”
. Because there’s a great
deal of interest in mail order marketing — always has been.

I didn’t want to write
that report, refused to write that report for 20 years and then I started
buying information on mail order marketing that I saw on television infomercials
and like that and discovered that it wa
s
a lot of crap. People who were teaching it had never done it and didn’t know
anything about doing it. And so I wrote the thing in self-defense literally
so that people would know the truth about mail order.

And I think one thing
about your product that makes it more interesting and maybe more of an opportunity
rather than just information is that you also offer dealerships? 60% dealerships,
is that right?

Well,
it’s 50% on the affiliate program, on the internet … then of course they
can earn a 60% profit on the products through the direct mail where they do
their own processing and all of that.

I see. And that product
of yours, has it been like a perennial best-seller?

Yes, since I wrote it it’s been my best-seller right down the line. Of course my best all time seller is the finders fee course. I taught that course originally in 1978 and there have been well over 30,000 people who’ve bought that since 1978 … it’s a $100 course. Back then they told me I couldn’t sell a $100 course by mail, but I did.

You said something very interesting, that on one of your products it took two or three years for repositioning it and working on the advertising to really make it sell.
I was going to ask you how important you felt the actual product was against the way it’s marketed and maybe not the slickness of the copy, but the way it’s presented?

Whenever
it comes to product and selling, the product actually has to be better than
your sales material but you have to have the right keys in your sales material
in order to make the sales.

I once wrote a beautiful
sales piece … I thought it was absolutely best thing I’d ever written …
showed it to everyone in the office, all of them praised it … I didn’t even test it I rolled out with a 10,000 piece mailing. I got one order.

So the product was good but the ad-copy wasn’t worth a dart. As a member of Mensa with a high IQ I had a friend read my sales copy for that piece, he wrote me back and said “Only two people in the world could understand it, you and me”.

So you can’t get too smart for your customers, you have to be able to speak their language at their level and so the ad-copy is … 99% of your business has to be your advertising.
Of course if you have good advertising and bad product it doesn’t help you very much because then your refund rate is high and your complaint rate gets higher and higher so you end up with more problems than a business.

So
out of interest how did you … I imagine you reworked that piece of advertising
… so how did you develop it after that?

Well, it was just a matter of testing. That’s the name of the game in mail order … the only reason that an old-pro like me is an old-pro is because I test everything.

Since
1999 when I set up our website I have tested just about everything and anything
you can imagine on when email should be mailed, what they should say, what
part of them are most important, what time of the day to mail, what day of
the week to mail.

Because each of those items are important to the success of your mailings. Whether it be direct mailing or emailing and every element of it has to be tested, re-tested, and then tested some more.

And that’s how you end up with the winners. You find something that works and keep it as a control.
A control is a piece that you know that if you mail it you’ll get x percentage or x dollars profit on each mailing.

Then you mail a split-mail where you mail your control and a new test piece so that the test-piece says something different, and see how it produces against something you know is already producing. And you keep doing that, testing the different elements until you come up with your best-selling pieces.

Is
it possible you could give me an example of one such test you’ve done for
your web site?

Let’s see … I have a report out there  “How To Make A Fortune Just Snooping Around” and I have run seven different test emails producing at various levels. I ended up with one that produced a significant amount of orders each time I put it out.
So I kept that as my control.

Two weeks ago I tested a new piece against it and I pulled twice as many orders. So that’s now my control.

But
you have to do that even when you’ve got a winner, because even your winner’s
are going to wear out when people have seen it too many times … and so the
name of the game … success in email marketing, or direct mail marketing
is to constantly be testing for new methods and new times of the week for
mailing, new headlines…

A problem that too many people do when they do testing is they test too many things at once. Where I may change only a headline and test that then I’ll add a paragraph in one and delete a paragraph from the other one but I test only one element at a time.

So
testing is … probably the biggest percentage of my time and effort in order
to keep the sales up, is in testing.

So, let’s say someone’s about to develop their first info-product or put together a new info-product, and they’re really looking for a best-seller, what would be your advice to them? To help them have as much chance of success as possible, what would
you suggest?

Well, the best thing to do of course is you respond to the need of the buyers out there. And I have seen a number of products that if I were a research writer I could write and make some money on, simply by going to the various discussion boards and reading the kind of questions that are out there.

And
whenever you find a bunch of questions about one particular piece of information
then that’s something you could research and create a product from because
if there’s enough interest, if people are asking the question then you could
find an answer for it, if you can find an answer you’ve got a market.

So
really you would say to create a best-selling info-product is answer the question
that a lot of people are asking?

The answer is … you’ve got to listen. Because see, besides selling info-products I’ve sold just about everything else you can imagine and I’ve always listened to the public.
Listened to what they are asking for.

As a matter of fact one of my best newsletters of many years ago was Offshore Banking News. And the reason it was a best-seller is because there was a great interest in the off-shore banking community … What was going on? What was happening? …

Most of the newsletters in that genre were written from the stand point of tax evasion, tax-avoidance, that kind of thing. And what I did was develop the Offshore Banking News which actually reported on the financial activities within the various countries around the world.

I had stringers in 40 counties that picked up news items, clipped articles from magazines and newspapers in their local area, translated them into English, and sent them to us. We reported on the banks in Panama with Noriaga and we got a call from CBS News
and they featured Offshore Banking News in the article we had written about Noriaga’s banks in Panama.

Because
we were picking up legitimate information about the offshore banking community,
the financial institutions in those areas, rather than touting the tax evasion
and all of the other nonsense that was going on in the supposed offshore banking
newsletters.

It’s
interesting that you said you didn’t go through perhaps the usual method of
surveying the market, and then creating the product, you created it because
it’s something you’d done and been successful in.

Well, when I started Offshore Banking News I owned an offshore bank. And because of the interest from the people out there then I knew what they were really looking for was information about what the financial community was actually doing because we didn’t cater
to the tax avoidance, tax evasion type of people, we catered to the investment type of people that were interested in what was going on in the financial communities. And like I say I was doing it and so I wrote about it.

Maybe
that’s one distinct advantage you have … you’ve been so immersed in different
businesses …

You see I am just exactly like my customers. I’m just an older version is all. Because what the young guys are thinking about … you know making money out there, how to get into business, and all of that, that’s what I was doing when I was their age too.
And so my product fulfils a need that I would have had at their age.

Understanding Large Coin Dealers

When someone becomes interested in collecting coins they look for places and people who will be able to sell, and in some cases advise them about, coins. The best people to look for when you want to buy coins for a coin collection are coin dealers. The grading of coins that is used will be looked into as well before the coin dealers agree to buy any coins. There are others such as a coin dealers.

When the coin dealers have found the various coins that they feel will be of good value and interest to coin collectors the coin dealers will make sure that they have the information about their new stock noted down. All of these items are of value to the coin collector because it helps them to understand the value of the various coins that they are interested in buying. Coin dealers usually buy their coins from rare coin auctions, internet coin shops, coin collectors who are interested in selling their coins for a profit and fairs where coins are sold in packets.

In some cases you can find coin dealers who have specialty coins only. Some of these coin dealers are what makes coins valuable. These could be coins from one period of time. These coins too will be looked at to make sure that they are in a condition that will invite coin collectors to come and look at the stock. Coin collectors are people who collect various coins because they like looking at the coins and feeling a sense of satisfaction that the coins they possess are a small sliver of history. To this end these coin collectors can store their collection in various types of coin folders.

The same coins dealers have a specific standards. These coin folders are easy to find and they are in many cases not that expensive. Are there any easy ways to store the coins and take them out if needed? And are the pockets of the coin folders made out of PVC based materials? These are some of the main concerns coin collectors will look at when they’re buying the various coin folders available just to make sure that all of their coin needs are fulfilled before they will agree to buy any coin folders. The coin folders will usually have ports or slots where the coins are placed.

Many coin folders will have a cover that is hardy and covered in a leatherette casing. The coin collection name and other cover information will be given a gold foil treatment. This way the coins are easy to display and you will have plenty of space beneath the coin window to state the information that you have about the coins in your collection.

How to best use your autoresponder for your email marketing campaigns.

Studies show a potential visitor will take seven to nine messages before s/he becomes comfortable with you and eventually contacts or preferably buys your products or services. If you are left with only one marketing tool, what would you retain? Most marketers would say autoresponders or their email list. This tells you how serious you should treat your email marketing effort AND your autoresponder tool.

What is an autoresponder? An email autoresponder allows you to follow up your potential customers at a predefined timeframe automatically through emails. You may acquire this functionality by installing a script on your webhosting or you can acquire this function through third party autoresponder service providers Is your email autoresponder working as effectively as designed? What criteria should you consider when it comes to picking an email autoResponder? What is the single most important criteria when choosing your autoresponder service?

Three criteria you should consider before you invest your hard-earned cash in this vital marketing tool. A great deliverability is the most sought-after feature of any email autoresponder. Any internet user would receive tons of SPAM mails in their mail-box each day. If you use Gmail, you should be familiar with the screen shot below. There are 2808 spam emails in my Gmail account as at the time of writing. I will never read these emails. If you use some poor autoresponder service, your emails will automatically be streamed into these SPAM folders. You may ask, “What determines which email go to “SPAM” folder?” Unless you are gmail.com, you don’t know their “way of thinking”.

But definitedly you don’t want to be the one who emails the optins to their SPAM folder. But what is the main cause for your emails not being able to reach your targetted prospects or subscribers? There are many reasons why it is the case, but by far the most important reason is this: Is your autoresponder a self hosted script OR third party autoresponder service? As mentioned, you acquire your autoresponder function either by the script you hosted on your website or you may build your list and your autoresponder through a third party service provider. The mission of a third party autoresponder service providers is to deliver your emails. Why do I not recommend a self-hosted script which you can install onto your webhost?

The reason is one word: “SPAM”. Some of your subscribers will report you as SPAM, no matter how diligent and sincere you are with your email marketing campaigns. People just forget they sign up on your list. They will report your emails as SPAMs some day down the road. It’s just a matter of “when”, not “If”. When subscribers report your emails as spams, their internet service provider (ISP) may blacklist your future emails. This blocks your emails getting into their inbox in the future. I have previously used a hosted service, which had good results initially (for about 6 months). After a few of my ex-subscribers complaint me spamming them, my emails are not as effective as before. Treat email autoresponders service companies eat and breath on deliverability.

They ensure your emails get delivered. Some autoresponder service us claiming that it delivers 99.34%, meaning it their readers get 99 emails out of 100 emails! There are some free autoresponder services out there. I urge you not to waste your time finding or even trying one. Why? I have used those services and only found myself promoting someone!|s else services. Those free services basically send out your emails with their own embedded advertising. Your readers will read their ads first before your messages. If you are not serious about your business, use free autoresponsers. Price should be the least concern, as autoresponder is your lifeblood of your viral traffic. Usually a quality autoresponder costs around $20 a month.

How to Deal With Pesky Unwanted Calls

To avoid unwanted calls you can use many services offered by your phone company.

Call screen (*60):
Your phone can be programmed to reject calls from selected numbers with a service called call screen (Phone companies might use different names). Instead of ringing on your line, these calls are routed to a recording that tells the caller you will not take the call.

With Call Screen, you can also program your telephone to reject calls from the number of last person who called. This allows you to block calls even if you do not know the phone number. Most phone companies charge a monthly fee for this service.

However, Call Screen is not a foolproof way to stop unwelcome calls. A determined caller can move to a different phone number to bypass the block. Also, Call Screen does not work on long distance calls from outside your service area.

You can also use Priority Ringing:
You can assign a special ring to calls from up to 10 numbers – calls you are most likely to want to answer. The rest can be routed to voice mail. There are ways callers can get around Priority Ringing when it is used as a screening tool. Harasser can switch phone lines and avoid the distinctive ring.

You can try Call Return (*69):
This service allows you to call back the number of last person who called, even if you are unable to answer the phone. Some people suggest that call return can be used to stop harassing callers by allowing you to call the harasser back without knowing their phone number. Use caution with this method of discouraging harassing callers, however, as it could actually aggravate the problem. This service is paid on a per-use basis.

You can use caller id to identify the caller if they are not blocking their number or use a service offered by most phone companies called Privacy Manager. It works with Caller ID to identify incoming calls that have no telephone numbers. Calls identified as “anonymous,” unavailable,” out of area” or “private” must identify themselves in order to complete the call.

Before your phone rings, a recorded message instructs the caller to unblock the call, enter a code number (like inbound call blocking devices mentioned above), or record their name. When your phone rings, you can choose to accept or reject the call, send it to voice mail, or send a special message to telemarketers instructing them to put you on their “do not call” list.

What does it mean when sometimes my phone rings and there is no one on the line?
Oftentimes, when you receive frequent hang ups on your phone line it could be that someone is checking to see if you are home or its simply harassment. It could also be calls from telemarketers who use computers for “predictive dialing” to call consumers where the computer dials many phone numbers in a short period of time. When anyone answers, the computer finds a sales representative who is not occupied at that time and connects the call.

If all sales reps are busy then consumer may hear only silence. These type of calls are called “abandoned calls.” If you are receiving many abandoned calls in a day, you can call the annoyance department of your local phone company. If these repeated calls are from a malicious individual who is harassing you rather than a telemarketer, the phone company will generally report the number to law enforcement.

3 Things You Must Avoid When Emailing Your List

When you decide to build an opt-in list, it is not just a matter of sending your subscribers your promotional newsletters or catalogs. There are many things to consider in avoiding complications. While there are so many ways you can encourage people to subscribe to your list, there are also some things you must do to avoid subscribers from wanting to unsubscribe from your list.

Aside from that, you also want to avoid any problems with the law and your internet service provider (ISP). There are now many laws and rules that are applied to help protect the privacy of internet users from spamming and unwanted mails. With the popularity of the electronic mail as a medium for marketing because of the low cost, many companys have seized the opportunity and have flooded many people’s email accounts with promotional mail.

But, with an opt-in list, you avoid this annoyance because people subscribe to the list; they want to receive the newsletters and promotional materials. They have consented to being on the list by subscribing themselves, just don’t forget to put an unsubscribe feature everytime in your opt-in list so that you avoid any confusion. There may be times when an email account was provided when the real owner didn’t want to subscribe.

By the way, if you don’t yet have an email list and could do with some help in making sure that you do everything correctly in building one, check out our free report available from http://ListBuildingBonanza.com.

It is essential that you keep your list clean and manageable. Arrange this by using the many tools and technologies available for your opt-in list. Don’t worry - your investment in this marketing strategy is well worth it with all the coverage you will get which will likely be converted into sales, then to profit.

Keep yourself and your business out of trouble and potential run-ins with the law and the internet service providers. Keep your operation legit and clean. Your reputation as a legitimate businessman and a legitimate site depends on your being a straight and true marketing strategist. As a tip, here are three things to avoid when emailing your list.

1) Take notice of your unsuccessful sends. These are the e-mails that bounce. Bounced emails, also known as undeliverable messages, are those messages that, for whatever reason, were not successfully received by the intended recipient.

There are bounces that happen or occur because the server was busy at that time, but can still be delivered at another time. There are also bounces because the inbox of the recipient is full at that time. There are those bounced messages that are simply undeliverable ever. The reason for this is that it may be an invalid email address, a mis-spelled email address, or an email address that was abandoned and erased already.

Manage your list by putting markings on those that bounce. Erase an email account from your list so that you have an accurate statistics and records as to how many are actually receiving your mail. You may also want to check the spellings of your email addresses in your list. One common mistake is when an N instead of an M is placed in the .com area.

2) Always provide an unsubscribe feature in your site and an unsubscribe link in your mails. When someone in your list files a request to be unsubscribed, always take that request seriously. If you don’t take them off your list and keep sending them your e-mails, you are now sending them spam mail.

When you are reported as a spammer, you and your business can get into a lot of trouble. You can be reported to the authorities and maybe blacklisted by many internet service providers. You will lose a lot of subscribers this way, and many more in potential subscribers.

3) Do not provide pornographic or shocking and disturbing content in your newsletters. It is hard to decipher the age of the recipient and many complaints may stem from these. Controversial issues also are to be avoided in order to not be branded by your subscribers. Stick to the nature of your site and business.

Always remember these three tips so that you can have a healthy relationship with your subscribers as well as be kept within the boundaries of what is allowed in sending mails to an opt-in list.

Neem buying: The best way to find quality neem products

Looking for neem? Have you ever been in the market for high quality neem products but could not figure out where to begin? Neem products are slowly becoming more widely available, but right now are mostly only found on the web or in health food shoppes and specialty stores. These products are not easy to find, so it is easy to grab the first thing you come across just because it says “this product contains neem oil”. Here are some quick tips that will help you make an informed decision before you actually purchase anything:

Find Out How The Neem Oil Was Extracted There are a couple of methods commonly used today to extract the neem oil from the seeds of the neem tree. As you have probably figured out, not all extraction process are to be trusted. The best extraction method that produces the most desirable neem oil is called cold pressing. Cold pressing neem oil is the best, as the majority of the active compounds remain intact. It is also the oldest extracting process. It uses a mechanical device that squeezes the oil from the dried seeds. Always try to get cold pressed neem oil where possible.

The next common way to extract the oil from the seeds uses steam and high pressure. Though this method yields more oil than the cold pressing technique, a lot of the active compounds in the neem oil are often made useless by the exposure to high heat.

A third process is the one that most neem oil dealers use because it gets the greatest quantity of neem oil. The technique is called solvent extraction, and almost always hexane (which is also called “white gasoline”) is the solvent that is used. Even though this method extracts nearly all of the neem oil from the seeds, the solvents render useless nearly all of the active compounds in the neem seed oil. And along with this and the fact that the solvent is poisonous, it is highly recommended to look for items that do not contain neem oil that was extracted using them.

Avoid Additives Most cosmetics and bath/shower products these days contain chemical compounds to “enhance” them, so to speak. However, some of these chemicals may likely cause unwanted side effects. Two of the most common chemicals that may be in many of the products are Lauryl Sulfates (SLS) and Parabens. Lauryl Sulfates are commonly used as foam producers, because they are inexpensive and work very well. The majority of inexpensive neem shampoo products contain these additives too. But, these chemicals are a known irritant. In fact, the USFDA asks manufacturers not to use them.

Parabens are often used for preserving, and though there has been no real studies showing that that they are potentially dangerous, they are becoming more and more controversial. Some organizations feel they should be avoided for the sake of precaution.

Be Sure To Look For Certified Organic Ingredients Quite obviously, organic ingredients are preferred over non-organic ingredients. These are natural substances, and have not been exposed to potentially dangerous chemical compounds, fertilizers, or other un-natural substances. Look for labels that list the ingredients. If a producer uses them, they will always state this selling point somewhere on the packaging.
